Client background

EQUITY, a performing arts trade union dating back to the 1930s, have regional offices across the UK and at Guild House, where John Logie Baird conducted the first-ever television transmissions.

History

By celebrating EQUITY’s longstanding history and roots in the Art Deco era, our team delivered spaces themed and styled to complement this rich heritage, whilst improving circulation, futureproofing, and accessibility. At the heart of the scheme is a large bespoke committee table and wood-panelled room with surround sound, induction loops and large screens for group union council meetings.

Exterior

The exterior of the building was also brought alive with new brand signage and architectural feature lighting to the heritage façade, proudly showcasing its space in the heart of London’s theatre district.

The project was a truly collaborative experience enabling us to bring our building alive and instil a sense of pride in the Union’s mission amongst staff and members. Concept 4 helped us define our design requirements and provided excellent support throughout the process. Every task was completed by highly competent and skilled professionals and the refurbishment was a great success.
